GLP-1 medications
These are approved prescription medicines, which raises the editorial bar rather than lowering it. You will find no titration schedules, starting doses or escalation intervals on these pages — those belong to the prescribing information and your prescriber. What you will find is what each product is, how its device works, and how to record it.
Active ingredients
Start here — the molecule determines the mechanism, and the brand determines the indication.
Semaglutide
The GLP-1 receptor agonist behind Ozempic, Wegovy and Rybelsus — three products, three licensed indications, one molecule.
Pre-filled pen or tablet · Weekly injection (or daily tablet)
Tirzepatide
A dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist — the ingredient in Mounjaro and Zepbound, and not a GLP-1 drug in the narrow sense.
Pre-filled pen or single-dose vial · Weekly injection

Frequently asked questions
Are Ozempic and Wegovy the same thing?
Both contain semaglutide, but they are separate products with different licensed indications, strengths and pen presentations — Ozempic for type 2 diabetes and Wegovy for weight management. They are not interchangeable, and a record should name the product on the box.
Is tirzepatide a GLP-1 medication?
Partly. Tirzepatide activates both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors, making it a dual incretin agonist rather than a pure GLP-1 receptor agonist. The shorthand is common but mechanistically incomplete.
Why don't these pages list titration schedules?
Because a titration schedule is a clinical instrument applied by a prescriber to an individual, and publishing steps invites people to follow them without one. These pages describe what each product is, how its device works, and what belongs in an accurate record.
Do I use a reconstitution calculator for a GLP-1 pen?
No. A pre-filled pen has a fixed concentration set at manufacture and a device that meters the amount. Reconstitution arithmetic applies only to lyophilised powder you dissolve yourself.
