KPV physical-property record
KPV is the Lys-Pro-Val tripeptide
PubChem identifies Lys-Pro-Val as MSH (11-13), with formula C16H30N4O4 and molecular weight 342.43 g/mol. Cayman supplies KPV as a trifluoroacetate salt and reports a higher molecular weight for that catalog form. This salt difference is central to the identity record: a free-peptide value should not be copied onto a TFA product without preserving the certificate's mass basis. KPV has solvent-specific solubility entries
Cayman reports different solubility values for its KPV TFA material depending on solvent, including water, PBS and DMSO. The source lists water at 35 mg/mL, PBS at 5 mg/mL and DMSO at 30 mg/mL, with storage at -20 C. These are laboratory observations for one salt form, not a universal volume choice. Three residues do not make identity trivial
The short KPV name can hide sequence direction, stereochemistry and counterion wording. A useful record expands the sequence to Lys-Pro-Val, stores the salt form, source catalog, lot and purity, and keeps the molecular-weight basis visible. PubChem anchors the free tripeptide; Cayman anchors a TFA reference. That distinction makes this page materially different from the LL-37 record despite the shared calculator layout. There is no universal volume selected by this page. Use the value you measured or were instructed to use; the calculator then divides the 10 mg label mass by that volume.
Does the KPV calculator recommend a dose?
No. The target amount is always entered by the user. The tool provides no starting amount, maximum amount, progression, frequency or schedule.
Why does the syringe calibration matter?
A syringe unit is a volume marking. U-100, U-50 and U-40 barrels use different numbers of units per millilitre, so the same solution volume produces different markings.
